E.L James – The Erotica Success Story

November 30, 2014

Fifty Shades of Grey was written by E.L. James (Erika Mitchell). The novel began only as fan fiction for the Twilight series which readers read online for free. Erika Mitchell, with the pseudonym EL James, originally wrote this fan fiction entitled Master of the Universe. The initial story revolved around the famous Twilight characters, Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. However, James eventually wanted to create her own and original work, so she published her story online with the characters, Ana Steele and Christian Grey.

Before the publication of the hard copies, The Fifty Shades of Grey was initially released as an ebook. Because of the expansion of the use of digital reading devices such as the Kindle, it was not difficult for the novel to gain popularity and spread across the internet. Because of these devices, the ebook was easily available to readers online. Soon, due to popular demand, the novel was published on print by The Writers’ Coffee Shop on May 2011.

Fifty Shades of Grey tells the story of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. Ana’s best friend, Katherine Kavanagh, turns ill and asks her to take her place in an interview with a young and wealthy businessman, Christian Grey. This is where Ana meets Christian for the first time, which is the beginning of an erotic romance.

Due to its adult content, the novel has received a mixture of good and bad reviews, but it has nevertheless gained popularity and success very quickly. It beat the record of the Harry Potter series as the fastest selling paperback of all time. It will also be adapted into a film, which is set to be released on August 2014. The novel is followed by 50 SHADES DARKER AUDIOBOOK and Fifty Shades Freed.

Fifty Shades of Grey and the rest of the trilogy are available in print and online. You can download 50 Shades of Grey Audiobook by visiting the link.
